Dinner at PS Cafe

The folks really enjoy going to events with me because they get to dress up and go to town.

Last weekend, we went to 2 back-to-back events then met up with my sister for dinner.

Dad could indulge in his fave fish and chips....and we all had sticky date pudding for dessert. :)

Happy Tuesday friends!

Monday's page from the gratitude journal - new scent

Monday's page from the gratitude journal is about the new perfume I got from the bestie for Christmas. It's a really sweet scent. :)

P/s: If you have been noticing diecut sentiments on my projects recently, it's because I had a diecutting day and went amassed a whole boxful to use for a long time. *winks*

Long day out with the folks

It's been a while since I last did a scrapbook layout. This one was last month's long day out with the folks.

We headed into town where mum and sister went for their facials while dad and I went for art supply replenishments (aka he enjoyed his coffee while I went shopping) and attend a Sephora event (aka he went as my Plus One so that I could get another goodie bag). *LOL*

We managed to get some pics of the folks with these fairly realistic cardboard displays depicting rural village life back when they were kids.

After a quick lunch, we stopped by the hospital to visit grandma. Her bed sores caused a blood infection (she's still in hospital but the infection has cleared...just need to deal with the wounds as they cannot risk operation on a 98 year old).

Then we went shopping for some household fixture replacements and then dropped to check out my uncle's new place. Takeout at my uncles' place and then we headed home. It was a long day out. The upside was that I didn't have to cook and clean up for 2 meals! *high fives all around*

A double page spread from the gratitude journal

Speeding things up with a double page spread from the gratitude journal. It's about 3/4s filled and such a joy to flip through the pages. :)

Today I'm sharing a double page spread from last year's birthday month celebrations. On the 15th, I went out with my bestie for dinner and got some longevity buns for dessert. On the 16th, I went out for lunch with my parents and sister and had ginger chicken. Yum!

Thursday's desk - gratitude page on the Ikea salad bowl

I had my eye on this bamboo salad bowl from Ikea...it's been well-used since I got it in February 2023. I've used it for salads, noodles and fried rice. :)

P/s: Saw that they have smaller matching bowls now...do I need them in my life? *asking for a friend*

Workspace Wednesday - recent eye drawings in my sketchbook

So I recently got some fluorescent coloured pencils and have been really enjoying them in my eye drawings.

They add that little bit of brightness and luminosity that you can't get from the regular coloured pencils.

And that bit of drama that you know I enjoy. *winks*

Monday's desk - my new drawer organizer

So if you've seen my desk, you know that I love my Muji acrylic drawers because I can see what's in them. Problem is that there  is a lot of wasted space unless I stack my supplies in double layers. So I finally bought this wooden drawer organizer to see if I like my art supplies organised this way....

A drawer for my Caran dAche Neocolor Its. :)

A drawer for my oil pastels.

A drawer for my Derwent Inktense blocks and Artbars and some fluorescent pastels.

So far, I think I like how the art supplies are looking in their new home. :)

P/s: I may or may not have ordered more drawers. *winks*

I love love love this soft-shell crab udon that they serve at Runam Bistro in Vietnam. It is served with a thick broth and just the perfect fusion of Japanese and Vietnamese flavours. Yum! :)

Thursday's gratitude page

This week's page from the gratitude journal is about my stay at Hotel de l'opera Hanoi. I've always walked past this boutique hotel in the French Quarter and admired its architecture. Finally had a chance to stay at the hotel last year. The room was really lovely (just lacked a bathtub), the breakfast was great, they had an indoor pool (really small) and sauna and it was a 10 minute walk to the Old Quarter (where most of the action was).

P/s: The lack of a bathtub was a real bummer though. It's always nice to soak in the tub after a long day out.
