Thursday's desk - an eye drawing

Life has been busy of late and this is the only eye drawing I got in this week. *sad music plays in the background*

Hope to have more time to draw/paint soon!

The one about meeting Garfield

Guess who met Garfield at the mall? *winks*

That would be these two... aka mum and dad! *LOL*

Sony had a new membership sign-up booth at the mall and the opportunity to take photos with Garfield. Naughty dad was trying to poke the eyes of Garfield.*shakes head*

Brought them out to the mall for a Sephora event. But I actually got more gifts with my purchase because the promoter said my folks were cute! (That's because she hasn't seen them at meal times...the whining requires cheese..*LOL*)

Anyway, this layout came together quite quickly because of the background paper...which conveniently set the "scene". Just had to add some fun details like the flowers, bird and butterfly. :)

Make Stuff Monday - 1 bag 2 ways

Just this past weekend, mum and I attended a Laneige x Sephora event and two cute little gift bags which I had to decorate immediately of course *winks*.

Here's a look at what the cute paper bag looked like before the transformation.

Here is bag #1.

And this is #2.

There you have it...1 bag 2 ways. :)

What do you think?

More eye drawings from the new sketchbook

Here are more eye drawings from the new sketchbook. I've been really enjoying the new angles and fun colour combos. If you are wondering why I never share my reference photos, it's because I use them more as inspiration references and let my imagination do the rest...*winks*

Workspace Wednesday - decorated upcycled plastic container

So I've recently started taking some collagen powder supplement which comes in this rather large plastic container (just a 30 day supply). Since I will probably collect a few of these in the next few months, I decided that I would decorate them to store some of my art supples.

It was so much fun rotating the container and decorating each "section" with bits and bobs from my stash.

Since I can't do much about the colour of the cover (spray-painting it with a different colour seems like way too much work..*LOL*), I decided to just pick colours that went with it....

Added a cute bunny...

That went with the sentiment...

I really love how this turned out!

A page from the gratitude journal - Home Saigon

Last year I had to start trying out new restaurants whenever I travelled because some old faves did not survive the Covid lockdowns and travel bans. Among them was Home Saigon aptly named because it is actually a residential house that they turned into a restaurant...and the food was really great. Portions were huge though...so we brought back the leftovers for the hotel staff at the lounge to enjoy. :)

Papa Yam's birthday 2024

This year we had a simple celebration for Papa Yam's birthday. Home-cooked lunch and a store-bought cake.

He really likes this mango cake...can you tell from his face? *LOL*

Then we went out for Thai food for dinner. :)

Not quite sure about this layout. Had this patterned paper for a while and was never really inspired to use it. I tried repeating some elements like the sticker and the washi tape and the brads to provide a little cohesiveness across the photos.

I love that it is quite different from my usual style but I still managed to incorporate fun elements. :)

Happy week ahead friends!

Eye drawings in a new sketchbook

So this girl started another eye drawing sketchbook...*winks*

What can I say? I just find eye drawing extremely therapeutic...*LOL*

I have gone for a whole new set of reference photos so that I can practise different eye angles and play with different colour combos.

Challenging myself to get a little more depth in my drawings on days that I have a little more time...

And maybe work on the eyebrow game..that needs major improvements.

And just have fun doing something I enjoy.

Happy weekend friends! :)
