The last cute animal card from scrap bits

Well, the time has come friends. All good things must come to an end. Presenting...the last cute animal card from scrap bits...*dramatic music plays in the background*

It was fun trying to make different cards using the same few animals and scrap bits.:)

As always, I kept the elements mostly flat to make it postal-friendly.

Happy weekend friends! :)

P/s: Apologies for being so brief in my blog posts and behind in my blog visits. Something unfortunate happened at home and I'm trying to adjust to a new schedule. More details when I'm ready to share. Thanks for your patience! :)

Thursday

Another abstract floral piece and a life update

Hello my friends! Hope you are doing well in your neck of the woods. :)

It's been a while since I shared a life update...

The COVID 19 cases have been surging despite 84% of the population being fully vaccinated so social gatherings in public places are in groups of 2. Only fully vaccinated people (excluding children under 12) are allowed to dine in or enter public shopping malls. Right not, we have VTLs (Vaccinated Travel Lanes) in place for about 11 countries (No quarantine required with a negative PCR test). Which means that if your entire family of say 5 is fully vaccinated, you could go to Germany and dine out together as a family unit. But you can't do it in your home country. I can't say I understand the logic behind this "rule".  Hope your country's restrictions are more logical. *LOL*

Another week, another decorated Christmas tin

Another week, another decorated Christmas tin! :)

Can you tell that I had fun decorating this tin? A pity I only have 2 of these. *sad music plays in the background*

Now...can I get some ideas on what to put in these tins as a Christmas pressie?

Abstract florals on a Tuesday

Hello friends! Hope you are doing well. How about some abstract florals on a Tuesday?

I’m trying hard to get back to my morning painting practice routine because I get to do something solely for me and my pleasure. Self-love. *winks*

Have you been doing anything just for yourself lately?

Monday

Make Stuff Monday - an upcycled box with scrap bits

Today's Make Stuff Monday - an upcycled box with scrap bits. Recognise the fussy-cut blooms? They were cut out from the mooncake paper bag (I had 2!)

I think the quote is pretty apt for a home care package for someone. Maybe filled with treats from different parts of the world? *winks*

I added some trim and washi tape at the edges of the cover of the box. :)

I kept most of the elements flattish so that it is storage and postal-friendly.

Happy week ahead friends!

Another Friday, another abstract floral piece

What? Is it Friday already? This was one of those weeks that just flew by and there was just so much to do! Did manage to sneak it a morning practice session today. I played with bright happy colours and just let them bleed into each other...not every practice needs to yield a masterpiece. *LOL*

Happy weekend friends! :)

Another cute card from scrap bits

I'm kind of sad that I'm almost out of these cute animals cut out from happy mail bits. But I have loved every moment of stretching my creativity to make each one unique. (I will share them collectively in a future post).

Tearing the edges of the paper adds texture and interest to your creative project and maximises the scrap bits you get to use.

Happy Thursday friends! :)

Workspace Wednesday - abstract florals

Sometimes life gets in the way of art. This piece of abstract florals was a 2-morning-practice-session effort. Using my fave wet-on-wet technique for the "blurry, hide all the mistakes" look. I think it turned out quite pretty.

What do you think?

A quick decorated upcycled Christmas tin

This gal is on a roll with her Christmas projects...*winks*

I started with this lovely Christmas tin that I got last year from buying SCS butter. Back then I wanted to collect all 4 designs but only managed to get 2. This year I've decided to decorate them, fill them up with goodies and give them away. :)

What do you think?

A birthday card using random bits on my desk

Happy Monday friends! Today's share is a birthday card using random bits on my desk.

Can you recognise the bits? (bear and notepaper from happy mail, fussy-cut flowers from paper bag)

I know the "scene" is so random but that is how I roll. *LOL*

Friday florals - another abstract piece

I've really been enjoying my quick abstract florals these days. I do them while standing so I stick to my time allocation (when I sit down, I tend to fuss more with the details and lose track of time)...and no paper dies from my ugly painting...*LOL* The paper needs to be flat on the desk because I like to work with wet on wet techniques.

Happy weekend friends! :)

Yes friends! I'm having fun using my Christmas stash to decorate these notebooks. :)

Just stickers and washi tape to keep everything nice and flat.

Happy Thursday friends! :)

Another week, another cute card with scrap bits

Another week another cute card made with scrap bits. :)

Always happy when randomly thrown together scrap bits come together for a somewhat cohesive look. *winks*

Hope you have been having a great week so far!

Make Stuff Monday - a decorated Christmas gift box

For today's Make Stuff Monday, I'm sharing a decorated Christmas gift box. :)

The box was from Shu Uemura (Japanese cosmetics brand) and featured a cool diagonal magnetic closure.

I decided to use the box's unique feature to my advantage and just designed on the diagonal flap portion.

I kept the design pretty minimal so that the contrast against the black really makes it pop. :)

I was tempted to add some dimensional elements but refrained so that it would be much easier to store it (can be stacked) and more postal-friendly as well.

Happy Monday friends!
