An upcycled tin box of Christmas cards with Xyron

Upcycled-tin-box-of-Christmas-cards

Sometimes the best Christmas gifts are those that have to do with Christmas....
Like an upcycled tin box filled with Christmas cards! Great for a busy someone who can use your gift right away [or maybe hoard it till next year...*winks*]

Start by measuring patterned paper [American Crafts Peppermint Express - Santa Stripes] to fit your tin box [I upcycled a K & Company tin box.].

Run it through the Xyron 5" Creative Station for an even application of adhesive. Then adhere to tin box.

Adhere some washi tape [Doodlebug Designs Home for the Holidays] along the edges.

Layer some patterned papers [Crate Paper Bundled Up -Winter and American Crafts Peppermint Express - Dear Santa], a string of green sequins, red feather and trim [Maya Road].

Add a festive sticker [Doodlebug Designs Home for the Holidays] and bloom [Maya Road Antique Pearl Center Flowers]...

And you have a festive tin box!

Then add some CAS cards [Doodlebug Designs Home For the Holidays patterned papers and sticker, SRM Sticker and twine and Xyron mega runner] like this one..

And this one...[Doodlebug Home for the Holidays patterned paper and stickers, Imaginisce bling, Fiskars scallop edge punch, Xyron mega runner]

Maybe a horizontal one... [Doodlebug Designs Home for the Holidays patterned paper and sticker, Crate Paper Bundled Up - Snowmen, ribbon, Xyron Mega Runner]

One with a cute reindeer...[Doodlebug Home for the Holidays patterned paper and sticker, SRM sticker and twine, Imaginisce bling packXyron Mega Runner]

Or Christmas trees...[Doodlebug Designs patterned paper and sticker, Xyron Mega Runner]

Keep them fun but postage-friendly! :) [Doodlebug Designs patterned paper and sticker, Xyron Mega Runner, SRM sticker, Imaginisce bling pack]

My Zeus and Zoe journey...

Mixed-media-canvas-for-Zeus-and-Zoe

Hello there friends! It's bittersweet as I share my very last Zeus and Zoe project [Click for tutorial.] I've certainly enjoyed working with items I may not have picked out for myself. You know that I'm not particularly adept at working with girly stuff like blooms and trims...but I think I winged it this year. *winks*

The story about the pink Christmas tree

Pink-Xmas-tree-joy

My niece Sophie, is totally into pink. Everything has to be pink to be "pretty".

So when I decided to decorate my mini Christmas tree from Daiso, my little helper insisted that pink would be a great colour for the tree...*LOL*

After misting the tree with Dylusions bubblegum pink, we proceeded to "embellish" the tree with pink flowers, tulle and pearls.

You should have seen her face when the tree was done...pure joy! :)

A holiday decor project with Xyron

Xyron-holiday-decor

Hello there friends! Are you busy decorating your home for the holidays? Today I'm sharing a step-by-step tutorial on how to make this holiday decor project. :)

I started with a 4 x 6 wood panel [which I found in my "save-it-for-a-rainy-day" stash]. Then I measured and cut patterned papers for the front, back and side panels. [Studio Calico's Magical - Happy Holiday Joy and Crate Paper's Bundled Up - Winter].

Then I run the paper pieces through my Xyron 5" Creative Station for an even application of adhesive.

I fussy-cut some festive lighting [American Crafts Peppermint Express Deck The Halls] and adhered using my Xyron Mega Runner. Then I added some bling [Imaginisce bling pack] for some sparkle.

Next I adhered a layer of printed vellum [Studio Calico's Magical Vellum Shapes] to a Maya Road bottle cap by running it through the Xyron 3" Sticker Maker. Then I added a wreath sticker [Doodlebug Designs Home for the Holidays].

I finished the wreath by adding some Ranger stickles to the bow for extra sparkle. After adhering the bottlecap, I ran some vellum snow flakes [Studio Calico's Magical Vellum Shapes] through the Xyron 3" Sticker Maker. I also added a bunny on a sleigh sticker [American Crafts Peppermint Express stickers].

Then I cut some Maya Road transparencies [Our Town Transparencies White] and adhered using my Xyron 3" Sticker Maker

Hope you've enjoyed my decor project as part of 30 days of Holiday Project Ideas with Xyron. :)

A gift set of Christmas cards in a glassine bag

SRM-card-set

My mother recently had her annual gathering with her friends. Those aunties have been giving me lots of pretty vintage lace and beads since they've discovered my penchant for altering stuff...*LOL*

So I made some CAS Christmas cards and enclosed them in a decorated glassine bag along with envelopes....as a thank you gift...:)

The cards are super quick to make and embellish with SRM stickers. And postage friendly too. :)

For the love of Japanese food...

Kai

I love Japanese food.
It wasn't LOVE at first. As you know, Japanese food is an acquired taste. *LOL*

I tried sashimi as a child and hated it. But I'm so glad I gave it another go. The raw stuff really is the best. :)

If you are ever in Manila, go eat at Kai. Everything is so fresh. And good. Yum.
