How to make your own tiered stand.

Tiered stand

Hello there friends! Today's the first day of the week-long upcycled projects! First up is this pretty little tiered stand. :)

Feel free to post any questions in the comments section OR join the discussion over at Do more with less's Facebook Page [come 'like' my blog!]...I'll be waiting there with some crickets...*LOL*

Step1 : Pleat ribbon around the circumference of tart mold. I used glue dots - faster and less messy.

Step 2:  Cut out the base of a soda can. Cut around the circumference to create "petals".

Step 3: Add a piece of paper doiley and then the petaled soda can base.

Step 4: Add patterned paper and the faux birds. Dress it up further with some coloured beads.
I also added stickles to the birds so they really sparkle.

Step 5: Upcycle a ribbon holder for the “stand” between the tiers. [you need something sturdy] Glue patterned paper around it. Add some ribbon and pearls.

Step 6: For the bottom tier: Repeat pleated ribbon technique on bottom tier. Adhere patterned paper to base of mold. Apply crackle paint in rock candy for a sparkly crackle finish. Add coloured ribbon and pearls.

Step 7: Die-cut two birdcages with the soda can.
Adhere them with 3D dots so that the silver parts are showing on both front and back.

Step 8: Affix the birdcages to the mold.(I used glue dots and then glossy accents for reinforcement) Add some tulle (which covers up the adhesive marks). Assemble your tiered stand. I glued mine down with glossy accents.

I have been using my stand to house my fave little trinkets. What will you use yours for?

Feel free to post your inspired projects on Do more with less's Facebook Page.
